For Canvas Emporium, sustainable development means creating economic growth and caring for society and the environment, while taking into account the needs of future generations. An awareness of our environmental impact is a responsibility of managers, supervisors, and employees at every level in the company. All personnel have an obligation to apply operating practices and procedures, which will ensure protection of environment.
OBJECTIVES:- In Accordance with the above Canvas Emporium has identified the following key objectives and actions to serve as guidelines in the implementation of The Environmental Policy. These Objectives and Actions are to be achieved using best available practices.
COMPLIANCE:- Full compliance with all applicable environmental legislation and regulations that affect our activities.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:- Improve our environmental performance as the expectations of the society change. We shall do this by using forest, energy and other resources with increasing efficiency, and by reducing all forms of waste.
RECYCLING:-Promote recycling and the use of recycled materials, whilst reducing the consumption of all materials wherever possible
MATERIALS:-Establish standards, which will promote the use of Environmentally friendly processes and materials we will strive to use Eco-friendly, Biodegradable materials as far as possible and viable.
EFFICIENCY:- Design energy efficiency into services and facilities and manage energy in all areas of the business.
EMISSIONS:- Continually strive to reduce the level of harmful emissions and minimize waste at all times.
SUPPLIERS:-Place more of our business with suppliers who minimize the impact of their activities on the environment and have and adhere to a Written Environment Policy.
RISK MANAGEMENT:-Continually identify, evaluate, and control the environmental risks associated with our operations. We shall have procedures in place to prevent and respond to emergencies.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS:-Implement systematic Environmental Management, which supports this policy at every operation. We shall assign appropriate Human and Financial resources. Every year we shall establish measurable objectives and targets for environmental management and performance improvement.
INNOVATION:-Support pollution prevention and environmental research, and implement findings consistent with this policy.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION:-Evaluates the Environmental performance of our operations and personnel, and recognizes achievements that support this policy. We shall provide our employees with information and training for them to fully integrate this policy into their responsibilities at work.
OPEN GOVERNMENT RELATIONSHIPS:-Work constructively with Governments and regulators on the establishment of Scientifically and Economically sound requirements for our operations.
REPORTS:-Report regularly on our environmental performance to the management of the company, the board of Directors, Employees and the communities in which we operate.
Canvas Emporium takes it responsibilities to the environment as one of our main priorities. Any member of our organization who contravenes our Environmental Policy Statement maybe the subject of disciplinary action.
